There’ll be a distinctly Australian flavour at the Chicago Hounds in 2025.

Not only has the Major League Rugby (MLR) franchise appointed former Wallabies-great Chris Latham as Head Coach, but it will also embed Lumin Sports in its performance department.

The Australian software company will play a significant role in how The Hounds manage athletic performance, team operations and medical monitoring.

Jamie Beamish, Head of Performance at Chicago Hounds, said Lumin will save the department time and streamline its processes.

‘’Every year we look to advance our performance department and Lumin will help us do that in 2025,’’ Beamish said.

‘’To have our performance, medical, and wellness data as well as S&C programming, and team operations within the same platform simplifies our processes and makes life easier for our athletes too.’’

‘’We’ll also use Lumin to manage our academy team prospects and create a sustainable pathway for them to reach the MLR.’’

The Chicago Hounds become the fourth MLR team to embed Lumin Sports in their program.

Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer, Ben Tripodi, said a growing number of teams are investing in performance.

‘’In relative terms, the MLR is a fairly new league but is developing exponentially in terms of talent and on field performance,’’ Tripodi said.

‘’More and more teams are turning to Lumin to stay at the forefront of that performance and operations evolution.’’

‘’The Hounds are taking it a step further by involving their academy and we’re grateful to play a role in supporting their ambitions to win what would be their first MLR championship.’’

The Hounds join RFC Los Angeles, San Diego Legion, and NOLA Gold as MLR teams working with Lumin Sports.
