The Jacksonville University’s men’s basketball program will embed Lumin Sports in their NCAA Division One program.
It comes as the Dolphins ramp up preparations ahead of the Atlantic Sun Conference opener in November.
The Australian sports technology will play a key role in performance monitoring, athlete wellness and team operations.
Assistant Coach and Director of Health & Performance at Jacksonville University Basketball, Josh Washington, said Lumin will save the coaching group time by centralising objective and subjective data.
‘’Like many basketball programs, force plate data informs our training processes and decision making,’’ Washington said.
‘’We also value athlete wellness and like to stay in tune with each individual’s own perception of stress, recovery, and soreness.’’
‘’Lumin brings all that information together in a central platform, giving us instant access to multiple streams of information which we can relay to players and staff when we need to.’’
Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer, Ben Tripodi, said the Dolphins are one of a growing number of basketball teams using Lumin as their foundation for athlete monitoring.
‘’The versatility of the platform has seen it embedded not only in college basketball programs, but in professional leagues in Australia and Europe,’’ Tripodi said.
‘’Our force and GPS integrations allow access to a broad spectrum of meaningful data in one place and that’s a significant advantage for our clients.’’
‘’We’re excited to be working with Jacksonville University and look forward to helping the Dolphins secure a ninth conference championship.’’
Lumin’s deal with the Dolphins follows agreements with Major League Rugby’s Chicago Hounds and Mater Dei High School.
