4 Week (4 Day) & 4 Week (3 Day) Concurrent Training Program for Men’s Basketball
What is Concurrent Training?
Concurrent training involves training various modalities (i.e. Strength, Power, Speed, Hypertrophy) at the same time during a single training cycle. These modalities can be highlighted and trained to see significant improvement or simply maintained to avoid a reduction in performance. In cycle 1 you will see a 4 day approach to concurrent training. The emphasis is centered around base strength and hypertrophy while still addressing power and speed qualities. This is being executed with a linear approach to volume and intensity. In cycle 2 you will see a 3 day approach to concurrent training. Here the emphasis has shifted to max strength and power while utilizing cluster training and dynamic effort loading.
Who it is for?
These programs were designed for a Men’s Basketball team training in the off-season. The game of basketball requires the athletes to be strong, fast, powerful, and have the capacity to repeated those qualities over and over again. These programs address all of those needs including an increase in lean mass, which is often needed for this athletic demographic.
