Taunton School has reaffirmed its reputation as having one of the United Kingdom’s (UK) most innovative school sports programs by becoming the first in the country to embed Lumin Sports in its athletics department.

Lumin is an Australian sports technology company that makes software to develop the athletic performance of emerging talent.

Taunton School staff will use Lumin to program and monitor the strength and conditioning (S&C) development of up to 500 of its student athletes.

Head of Athletic Development at Taunton School, Tim Thompson, said students will benefit from a more individual approach to their programming.

“Lumin’s range of metrics adds real variety to my programming, giving me the flexibility to tailor every session to my athletes’ needs,” Thompson said.

“The app is intuitive and makes building periodised programmes effortless.”

“Team Training mode is also a game-changer. Multiple athletes can log their progress on one device, saving time and streamlining group sessions.”

Taunton School offers a unique High-Performance Pathway program and has over 120 representative teams that compete in more than 20 sports.

Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer, Ben Tripodi, said Taunton’s staff and students are set to benefit from the same technology used by some of the most successful high schools and professional teams in the world.
