Pride boost performance department with Lumin

The Orlando Pride has embedded Lumin Sports in its high-performance program, coinciding with a strong start in its 2026 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) campaign.

The Pride become the first NWSL club to use the Australian-made performance platform across its 26-player squad to manage strength and conditioning programming, rehabilitation progressions, and daily performance operations.

Christi Edson, Head of Performance at Orlando Pride, said Lumin improves alignment across departments and supports clearer decision making.

“Lumin has helped strengthen collaboration between our Medical and Performance departments by keeping gym plans, lift progressions, and rehab modifications aligned in one place,” Edson said.

“It allows us to clearly communicate individual adjustments for athletes in RTP (return-to-performance) while still building them towards team programming where appropriate.”

“The service Lumin provides supports more informed day-to-day decision making and ensures each athlete's plan reflects both medical status and performance goals.”

Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer, Ben Tripodi, said the Pride will benefit from a platform built for performance teams managing complexity at scale.

“In elite environments, you are balancing availability, load and long-term development every day,” Tripodi said.

“Coaches need structure and visibility without adding admin. Lumin gives them a system where programming, monitoring and communication are all connected.”

“That clarity is what allows coaches to move faster and make better calls across the season.”

The adoption reinforces Lumin’s position in the North American market, where professional teams in Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) are standardising performance and medical workflows into single systems.

Orlando Pride joins organisations, including FC Cincinnati and Los Angeles FC, who have integrated Lumin into their high-performance environments.
