Toronto Rock has selected Lumin Sports to support its National Lacrosse League (NLL) title defence.

The seven-time NLL champions are using the Australian athlete management system (AMS) and strength and conditioning (S&C) platform to centralise their medical, performance and team operations across their pathway and elite programs.

Emily Kenyon, Lead Physiotherapist at Toronto Rock, said the implementation has already increased athlete compliance and created a more connected performance environment.

“Lumin Sports has enabled us to integrate performance testing, player management, and communication between our medical and performance staff within a single platform,” Kenyon said.

“Having both therapeutic exercise prescription and strength and conditioning programs in one place has also improved athlete compliance and created a more seamless experience for our players, helping us make better-informed decisions and deliver the highest standard of care and performance support throughout the season.”

Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer Ben Tripodi said coaches and medical staff are increasingly looking for ways to save time and create a central source of truth.

“The challenge is maintaining consistency without creating more administrative work,” Tripodi said.

“Lumin gives large performance programs greater visibility on player status and allows staff to work from the same information.”

“The data collected from athletes through Lumin is also more consistent and of a higher quality because they only need to go to one app to check in, view their schedule, and access their programs.”

Toronto Rock joins a growing number of North American lacrosse organisations using Lumin Sports, including the Las Vegas Desert Dogs and San Diego Seals.

It also reinforces Lumin Sports' growing position within North American professional sport and follows newly announced partnerships with NBA, WNBA and MLS teams.
