Adelaide United has made the switch to Lumin Sports to centralise athlete management, performance monitoring and daily operations across its high-performance program.

The A-League club will use the Australian sports technology provider to bring athlete wellness, GPS data, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and scheduling into one platform.

The move will give Adelaide United's performance and medical staff a central system to manage athlete information, coordinate rehabilitation, and support decisions around player performance and availability.

Adelaide United Head of Performance Sean Baker said the decision was driven by the platform's ability to consolidate workflows and reduce the administrative demands placed on practitioners.

"For me, it was a no brainer to align AUFC with Lumin,” Baker said.

"Aside from the fact that they are one of South Australia's most exciting and innovative organisations, they have given us the opportunity to house wellness, GPS, strength, rehab and scheduling, all in one platform.

"I have been fortunate enough to have worked with Lumin in other environments, and their evolution over the last 18 months in particular has been mind blowing. In my eyes, there is not a better value system for sporting organisations, world-wide.

"This relationship is going to save the performance and medical staff an incredible number of hours, as well a support us in making better decisions, to enhance performance and availability."

Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer Ben Tripodi said the partnership reflects a growing demand among professional football clubs for connected performance and medical systems.

"Pro teams are managing more athlete information than ever, but the challenge is turning that information into something coaches and practitioners can use every day," Tripodi said.

"Bringing these workflows together gives staff greater visibility across their playing group and reduces the time spent moving between systems which is a huge benefit."

Adelaide United joins fellow A-League club Newcastle Jets and Major League Soccer (MLS) organisations FC Cincinnati and Los Angeles FC in adopting Lumin Sports in their high performance programs.
