Lincoln University will use Lumin Sports to support its high-performance program across strength and conditioning, athlete communication and medical visibility.
Lumin's athlete management system (AMS) and strength and conditioning (S&C) programmer will support 250 athletes with tailored S&C programming and clearer communication between athletes, coaches and medical staff.
Lincoln University’s Athletic Performance Manager, Callum Brown, said Lumin will help staff plan, adapt and communicate training with greater speed and clarity.
“Athletes can also log niggles and injuries, which can prompt conversations with strength and conditioning coaches who can then adapt training programs and identify who requires to see a physio or sports doctor.
“The app is able to drive all communication into one place, is easy to use and we’ve had great feedback from our athletes so far.”
Lumin Sports Chief Executive Officer Ben Tripodi said the partnership reflects the increasing expectation on university performance programs to deliver high-level structure without adding complexity for coaches.
“University environments are demanding because athletes are balancing training, study, competition and recovery,” Tripodi said.
“Coaches need systems that give them clarity without slowing them down.”
“When programming, wellness and medical visibility sit together, coaches can make better decisions and athletes understand what is expected of them.”
Lincoln University joins a growing group of New Zealand organisations using Lumin, including NZ Football, the New Zealand Breakers, NZ Canoe Slalom and King’s College.
The move also strengthens Lumin’s position across the New Zealand high performance and education market, where coaches are seeking more structured ways to manage athlete development at scale.
